Thoughts? Anyone play the beta? The newest incarnation of the Daikatana curse (game in development waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long and comes out like garbage)?

I doubt I’ll be playing. I remember when SG was all about D2.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first two acts of D2. Then I lost interest.

Update: the servers are down. It must be good if an emergency maintenance period is immediately followed by a second emergency maintenance period.

Lots of people I know haven’t been able to get into it at all yet.

I’ve played it for a total of about half an hour so far, and it was pretty fun. Then I got booted. Now I’m a little pissed off. This always online crap is a load of crap.

Hai guise I have this game. But my computer is too old to play it. :mz2

Seems the decision to purchase said game was somewhat shortsighted, then.

I preordered it 12 months ago. It seemed a good idea at the time.

PC gaming is crazy expensive nowadays.

That it is. On another note, played like an hour more, and the game is pretty fun. The Demon Hunter class sucks until you hit level 5, then all of a sudden it’s over powered like crazy. Fun Fun Fun.

Nowadays? It’s likely the cheapest it’s ever been, because they age way better than they ever have. Well unless you’re a tool and buy Macs every time they refresh them. My computer is 6 years old. I’m going to be replacing it soon.

They make games for Macs? Seems unlikely.

They do, but they probably don’t realize it until it’s too late.

I would think Apple would just release their own proprietary version of the same game, with only 1/5th of the content, for triple the price.

I’ve played through the first three difficulties (normal, nightmare and hell) and it was a mostly enjoyable ride. Then you get to inferno difficulty, and the difficulty curve after the first act (4 acts) becomes ridiculous. Yes many people have beaten inferno difficulty, but the majority of them are over geared for it or used exploits to beat it. Take this for instance. I have a level 60 wizard (level capped) with 35,000 health, 5400 armor (64.64% mitigation supposedly) and there is a mob in act 2 that hits you in melee or tosses a fireball like object at you. Now most of the time, it is easy to dodge, but there are those times when you cannot. I got one shot by one of them. Mind you, this is with an ability active called crystal shell. I had the rune modifier to increase its absorption total by 100%. Even with this ability active, one of those fuckers tossed a fireball thing at me and hit me for in excess of 58,000 dmg. TL:DR First three difficulties and the first 1/4 of the final difficulty are balanced nicely, but there is a sharp upwards curve in difficulty (enemies hit for a shit ton more and sometimes it’s just not fair to the majority, but eh, what can you do…oh wait.) where you will be dying a lot more. With the 1.03 patch coming out soon, difficulty in the later acts of inferno (...difficulty) is supposedly being evened out for a more smooth (more gear grinding with less deaths) and enjoyable (less cheap deaths) ride.

People have already beaten this game? I forgot some people play video games for more than two hours a month… I’m still in Act 1

I’ll get around to trying it at some point. |
