In 2010 Sega released a multi-platform game titled Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode I.
While many fans saw the game as a welcome enough edition to the series, it sadly lacked longevity. The latter part of the title hinted at the game being unfinished, but as we approached 2011, there were still no signs of a part 2.
Today, on the doorstep of 2012, Sega have finally announced Episode II in an interview with Gamespot.
Episode II promises Tails (yawn), Metal Sonic (could be interesting), and “surprises” (hopefully not Big the Cat or Cream the Rabbit).
Interestingly, Sega are using new graphics and physics engines, which may make Episode II look and play vastly different to its predecessor.
There is still no official details on which platforms this episode will be hitting, but it’s due to come out at some point before the end of next year.
Let’s see if Sonic 4 can finally justify the number in its title.

It’ll only take you an hour to finish. Was half price in XBL yesterday.

I was hoping to wait until they realeased some kind of complete edition, but it’s just taking forever for part 2 so I stopped caring much really.
