When was the last time you played a game that you truly felt was scary. Silent Hill 2, the original Dead Space come to mind. It seems like lately scary games are just a no go, because there hasn't been any.
Routine looks scary. In fact just watching the trailer had me feeling all creeped out. It also made me very excited.
Routine is a hard core first person survival horror game that takes place on a moon base in what looks like the 80s. There is no hud, no health bar, no points, and if you die you are dead. Something has happened to all the people on the Lunar Research Station, and it's up to you to uncover the truth, if you survive long enough. Developer LunarSoftware also says the game will be non-linear, so you'll be free to explore the station however you see fit. As a result, some players may uncover more of the story than others. It looks fresh, bold and exactly what I want out of a horror game.
If Routine doesn't already look scary enough, it's being developed with the Oculus Rift in mind. Ready to go full VR in a lunar station full of horrors? That might be a little TOO intense, but I'll definitely give it a shot.
Check out the early gameplay trailer below and let me know what you think. I can't wait to try this out.
