On the Japanese TV show Pokémon Smash, Junichi Masada, director of the ever-popular Pokémon series today announced the next two handheld titles.
Due for release in June on the DS, Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2 will mark the first time a main-series Pokémon game has recieved a numbered sequel. Though it'll probably just turn out to be the slightly upgraded re-release we've come to expect from the series (since Yellow on the original Game Boy), it's interesting that they're going with a number this time, and that there will be two versions.
DSi and 3DS players are promised extra features (prusimably some sort of camera/AR thing).
No more information has yet been revealed, other than the game mascots, the two new forms of Kyurem (who seems to be doing a good job cosplaying as Black and White's Reshiram and Zekrom).
Hopefully we'll have more on these games soon.

It’s pretty obvious they started running out of ideas for pokemons about half way through the first cycle.

I hear that Pokémon will be getting some WiiU action, might even be a launch title. If this is the case, I will be purchasing it day one to see what the craze is about. I’m hardly ever in a position to play handhelds so I never got into Pokémon. At any rate, it will be interesting to see the YouTube videos that will surely be made about this game. Good times.
