At this year's EVE Fanfast, a few EVE Online developers showed off a tech demo they'd made in their spare time called EVE-VR. It was a 6 on 6 VR space battle using the Oculus Rift headset. The response was so great that they brought it along to E3 as well, where it proceeded to blow minds and win awards. With all the attention the only question on everyone's mind was "when can I give you my money?" CCP Games remained tight lipped though, saying only that it's just a tech demo and they weren't announcing anything at the time.
All that has changed now, as CCP Games has released an official reveal trailer for a full version of the game called "EVE: Valkyrie".
“From the moment this year’s Fanfest attendees first got their hands on EVE-VR, the question has been, ‘When can I have this?' What started as a passion project by a small, incredibly talented group of CCP developers became one of the most highly anticipated games of the year — before we even announced it. We have big plans for EVE: Valkyrie and I can’t wait to share more details later this year.” Said CCP's boss Hilmar Petursson.
Check out the teaser trailer below, it's short but oh so sweet. This and the Oculus Rift can't get here soon enough.
